LONDON, 14 May, 2024—Common Sense Media UK has expanded its board with the addition of two new trustees: Sir Jeremy Wright KC MP, former secretary of state at the Department for Digital, Culture, Media, and Sport, and Jenny Afia, a leading privacy and reputation lawyer and Senior Partner at Schillings. Their support will amplify advocacy and education efforts in the UK and continue to deliver on Common Sense's mission to help children thrive in the digital world.

The appointment of Sir Jeremy Wright and Jenny Afia, as new trustees comes at a time of unprecedented momentum behind online safety and Common Sense Media's increased presence in the UK, including a recently formed partnership with the NSPCC.

"Common Sense Media has an impressive track record of implementing digital and media literacy in schools, understanding the impact of generative AI on children, and leading transatlantic advocacy for children's digital well-being," said Sir Jeremy Wright. "I am looking forward to helping scale these efforts in the UK during this critically important time when families and children are struggling to stay safe online."

"The sky's the limit for Common Sense Media UK, under the continued leadership of Trustee and Chair Lord Ed Vaizey and our newest trustees," said James P. Steyer, CEO and founder of Common Sense Media. "Jeremy and Jenny will help us ensure that digital and media literacy remain a priority for broader transatlantic policy efforts, while elevating youth and family voices."
